Can Maremmas be aggressive?
They are loyal, loving and sweet dogs to their family but aloof and reserved with strangers – don't expect this breed to be best friends with new house guests. Their protective nature makes them great watchdogs, but they aren't aggressive, instead they rely on their size and deep bark as a deterrent
There is a tendency to attack and bite anyone who comes too close and apparently with bad intentions. An aggressive dog will not hesitate to continue his attack until a different command form is given by the shepherd, but he is never aggressive just for the taste of it.
