About Child Support:

Child support is money paid monthly by one parent to the other to contribute to the expense of raising your children.

The amount paid is determined by the Child Support Guidelines and the payor's income. If children are with both of you more than 40% of the time, the amount of child support can be different than prescribed by the Child Support Guidelines.

The cost of some of the children's expenses (daycare, extraordinary extracurricular activities, uninsured health care and postsecondary education costs) are also shared in proportion to incomes and paid as child support.
