Newby Hall, in Yorkshire is the unlikely scene of one of the most captivating and talked about parnormal images ever. In 1963 The Reverend Kenneth Lord took the photograph in the Church of Christ the Consoler that is located within the grounds of Newby Hall. When the image was developed a murky humanoid shape appeared that was not there at the time the photo was taken. When the creepy picture was circulated in the newspapers of the day many suggested that the figure bears a similarity to a 16th century monk, although there was no history to back that up. In fact the Spectre is the only paranormal thing to happen at the Hall.

In an era when there was no photo editing available the only plausible explanation was double exposure. However numerous experts who have examined the image can not confirm this, so to date there is no logical explanation apart from it being the illusive ghost photograph we have all been looking for!
