A Stretch film is a non food contact product. It cannot touch food. Cling film on the other hand is food grade. It's approved. So when you go to a supermarket you buy your meats. The film it is wrapped with is not stretched. It's cling because it's touching the food. Stretch film is only used for pallets because it's not supposed to be used for food contacts. It's only for outer packaging. That is the main and primary difference between the two.
