After weeks of chicken eggs suddenly disappearing from the laying boxes the thief was caught. An Australian Raven. These intelligent birds are found in East Coast & South West Coast Australia. If hen eggs are left where they can see them or easily access them they will regularly steal & eat them.

To protect your eggs ensure that the ravens can't get in to your hen's laying box and or coop. Or collect your eggs early before the ravens beat you to them! And incase you were wondering, you can tell an Australian Raven from a crow by the raven's throat hackles.
