Today I'm sharing my answer to the ageold question, "What's for Dinner?" My answer on this day is a couple of family recipes that have been around for generations and served at more family dinners than I can count.
Join me as I cook from one of my most prized possessions, centered around family dinners, which is a handwritten cookbook, made by my Mom, who compiled these recipes from family and friends.
Famous Meatballs:
3 lbs. hamburger
2 eggs
1 cup chopped onions
2 cups oatmeal
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
113 oz can Milnot
Make into balls and place in baking dish. Do not stack.
Sauce:
2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup chopped onions
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 T liquid smoke
Stir until dissolved and top. Bake covered at 350 for 1 hour.
Deviled Eggs:
Halve SIX hardboiled eggs, lengthwise. remove yolk and mash with fork then add:
1/4 cup mayo
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp mustard
1/8 tsp salt
dash of pepper
