Also referred to as the ‘Lapinkoira,’ the Finnish Lapphund is native to Lapland, an area of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and northern Russia located north of the Arctic Circle. It is named after the Sami or Lapp, who have lived in the area for thousands of years. The Sami lived in tents or turf houses.
