It's nice to feel special. And get free stuff. And receive insider info. Fenway Park is a magical place, and having connections to guys on both teams made it even better.

The Boston Red Sox played the Oakland Athletics, and both of my friends were in the bullpens so of course I spent lots of time near that spot during batting practice and also had seats there during the game itself.

How many baseballs did I catch? What other memorabilia did my friends hook me up with? How funny was it when a random guy sitting behind me did his best Boston accent for the camera? (Very!) This was an exceptionally fun day with all kinds of wacky stuff that kept happening.
