Here's what we learned from an interview with attorney Sarah Wolk:

At a court hearing or trial, the process generally involves the following steps:

Arrive at the Courthouse: Locate your specific courtroom as mentioned in your paperwork, including the judge's name and courtroom division.
CheckIn: Arrive before the hearing starts to check in, usually with the court clerk. You'll find your case number on a docket list, which indicates the order in which cases are called.
Wait for the Judge: The judge will enter and take control of the courtroom. It’s important to remain silent and attentive.
Introduction to the Judge: When your case is called, approach the judge’s bench and introduce yourself, addressing the judge as "Your Honor."
The Judge Leads the Hearing: The judge will guide the conversation, asking for information from both sides. If the judge asks you a question, respond respectfully and clearly. Don’t interrupt others and wait for your turn to speak.
Ruling: The judge will make a ruling, which might involve setting another trial date or making a decision in the case.

To prepare for a court hearing:

Know the Facts: Understand your case thoroughly, including all filed documents and the specific details of your situation (like the nature of the debt and any contracts involved).
Read All Court Documents: Be aware of what will happen at the hearing or trial, and any documents you need to file beforehand. Some hearings require submissions in advance, like a case management conference.
Prepare for Trial: If your case involves witnesses or evidence, prepare your questions and know which documents you'll present as evidence.
Follow Court Rules: Ensure you adhere to all court rules and procedures to avoid fines or other consequences.
Remember, while the court process can be daunting, especially for those representing themselves, being wellprepared, respectful, and informed about your case can significantly help in navigating the process effectively.

SoloSuit aims to help individuals resolve disputes and resolve debts. We offer products that can help consumers represent themselves in court and settle their debts before going to court.
