In this video we look at how the continuous movement of Earth's tectonic plates results in volcanic activity. In a volcanic eruption, superheated magma from within the earth’s upper mantle works its way to the surface. This most often occurs at tectonic plate boundaries, but some volcanoes can also form over 'hotspots', or weak areas in the earth's crust.
