Nurse Storytime: I had a weird dream about my first emergency / patient code situation, and the events actually came true! These types of dreams are sometimes called precognitions, precognitive dreams, dream premonitions, or a glitch in the matrix (lol).

In this video, I'll share a true story about the first patient emergency/code situation in which I had to call a rapid response team to help.

The weird thing about all of it was that I had a very vivid dream the night before. In the dream, the patient's health started deteriorating quickly, and I had to call a rapid response/code team. There was also a lot of blood in my dream. This same type of event happened the next day.

At this point in my career, I was a brand new nurse on my own. Dealing with a patient code/emergency situation was something I was really dreading, but I knew I would have to deal with it soon enough. It was almost like the dream prepared me for it.
