Webinar: How to reduce water consumption in industry using water pinch analysis?

Fives ProSim

In most industrial processes, reducing water consumption is a major economic and environmental challenge. The reuse of water, with or without regeneration, is a way to reduce water consumption and waste in a process.

The "Water" module of Simulis Pinch calculates all of the possible ways to reduce water consumption and discharges from industrial processes by optimizing the water reuse. This software relies on the mass pinch method to find the most appropriate reuse between the discharges and the water requirements of a process.

The objective of this webinar is to show you how the socalled "pinch analysis" can be applied to water, thereby reducing water consumption in industrial processes. In particular, you will notice that the software makes it possible to quantify the water sources available on a unit and to propose a new, more integrated process configuration.

You will attend a presentation about the mass pinch methodology: analogy with the thermal pinch analysis, objectives and expected results. The presentation will be followed by an application example with the water module of Simulis Pinch to propose a new efficient water network.

This webinar is intended for engineers whose activity relates to the design, optimization and analysis of processes as well as for engineers in charge of the performances of a process and people dealing with the environmental challenges of processes: plants energy and water managers, process auditors, ecoefficient units designers.

This webinar will allow you to answer the following questions:
• What is pinch analysis?
• What is the link between thermal and mass pinch analyses?
• How to practically implement water pinch analysis?
• What are the different steps of an "advanced" audit of your water use?
• What results should you expect?
