THIS EPISODE

After an incredible night at WestportUnion Landing State Beach Campground, which we had completely to ourselves, we enjoyed a morning walk with coffee on our own private beach! These are the amazing treasures that you can find if you go with the flow and don’t over complicate the planning process!

As we left the campground, Highway 1 turned inland and we got our first glimpse of the beautiful Redwoods on this trip! And just like that, we reached the end of California Highway 1. It was a little tight there in a few spots, so we would not recommend that you drive it with something as big or bigger than our rig, but we enjoyed every minute of exploring the beautiful California coastline!

Our goal was to find a first come, first serve campground close to the Redwoods so that we could spend the next day hiking and seeing a new section of the park that we had never seen. Big Lagoon County Park only had a couple spots for big rigs, and we were psyched to get one! It was a bonus that not only did the one open spot have water and electric but the park also gives a discount to Veterans!

Another great drive day wrapped up at a beautiful campground and, of course, delicious meat on the smoker!
