Welcome to part two of our crazy grade cutting adventure. This time we have the right tools for the job. We were able to rent a CAT D6T bulldozer. It is actually a little larger than we were originally thinking of renting. That being said, Once we got into the project, we were really thankful that it wasn’t smaller.

Despite having spent many hours moving material with the excavator already, we greatly underestimated how much material we needed to move in order to accomplish our goal of a level build site.

On top of that, the soil ended up being both harder and wetter than we anticipated. This made two machine operators necessary, to move material efficiently. Thankfully we had several family members willing to help us with this project.

After a week of hard work, we got our build site close but not finished. We were returned the bulldozer and hope to be able to rent it again summer of 2024, so that we can put the finished touches on our project.
