We got our RIG | Becoming Fulltime RV'rs | 2018 Keystone Bullet 243BHS

We finally bought our travel trailer for fulltime family RV Travel! We went with a 2018 Keystone Bullet 243BHS from Pleasureland RV Center in Brainerd, MN.

You have been through the ups and downs with us. We have gone back and forth about what kind of rig we were going to get. At one of the last RV shows we went to, we decided we wanted to stick with a bunkhouse that was under 28 feet. We even looked at a vintage airstream to see if that was a good fit. In the end, because we are not renovation people, we decided to go with a Keystone Bullet 243BHS which provides the kids with full sized bunk beds and us with a private sleeping area on the opposite end of the trailer.

We drove up to the PleasureLand RV Center in Brainerd, MN to do our walk through and pick it up. They showed us how to use everything including how to set up the hitch. We ran into an issue with towing because our Nissan Armada didn’t have a brake controller which made towing a rig of this size illegal. In the video you’ll see how we solved that problem.

We waited until the morning to attempt backing it up into our single driveway, which took forever, but eventually worked and figured out how to set up everything we needed.

The rig will be parked in our driveway through the end of this camping season (probably through the end of September) so we can do some packing and interior decorating and upgrades. We’ll pay to store it offsite for the winter so we can access our garage during the snowy winter months.

Here are some promised links:

The AntiSway hitch we had installed: https://amzn.to/2tu18le
Our backup camera: https://amzn.to/2twWpiE (UPDATE: in the video, we could not get the pairing to work, but it turns out the wiring was hooked up to one of our lights and the light switch needed to be turned on in order for it to pair. It’s all working now… just an fyi).
Brake Controller: https://amzn.to/2ttWt2K we had to get a nissan adaptor for this which I believe was $10.
