In this enlightening talk, Drew Ann Long shares the story of her daughter Caroline and her daily struggles of navigating the world with special needs. Drew Ann’s talk helps us see the world through a new lens and shows us the importance of inclusion. Drew Ann Long is an advocate for families with children with special needs. She has lobbied members of the United States Congress and presented to the National Council on Disability and to the United States Access Board.
Addressing the lack of accessibility and inclusion in the retail world, Drew Ann designed Caroline’s Cart, the first ever patented special needs grocery cart for older children and adults with disabilities. Caroline’s Cart was awarded the 2013 International daVinci Award for Best Product in Mobility, and Drew Ann was named one of “THE LIST 2017” National Retail Foundation of People Shaping Retail’s Future.
