Hey what's up gamers, Sophist the description overlord is back once again which is ironic because I'm not in this video, but that just means I can make fun of them even though I haven't watched the video yet. Now anyways while you're here, here's some interesting facts about forks that I learned online.

Forks originally had one prong, until the Romans added one more in the Middle Ages. Before the advent of forks, humans used two knives to eat food – ouch!

Forks date back to ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece and the word fork itself comes from the Latin furca, which means “pitchfork.” However, in their earliest form, forks were used to lift heavy meats and as carving tools rather than for actual dining.

It is against the law to eat chicken with a fork in Gainesville, Georgia, the 'Chicken Capital of the World.

In the U.S. forks did not become popular until the 19th century, when the Rockefellers, Morgans and Carnegies popularized them.

Forks, the most often used dining tool, were previously considered blasphemous. They initially appeared in Italy in the 11th century. These spiky spaghettitwirling devices were considered an abomination to God. And why, you could ask? Because they were "artificial hands," they were deemed sacrilegious.

Hope you enjoyed. I'll be back on my next description with facts about spoons.
