Water in boot/trunk (Peugeot 307; 2007)

If you boot is full of water, the air vent seals might be the reason. I drained ~6L of water in the boot/trunk of my car.

The car is a Peugeot 307 (2007; 1.6L 16v petrol; 110bhp; ~50,000miles; TU5JP4 engine). This should be the same in Citroen with the same 1.6 petrol engines.
First check if the rubber seal around the boot is intact, second the rubber seal inside the rear lights and then the glass at the rear hatch. If water is not coming from any of these, it could well be the rear air vents. There are two air vents in my Peugeot 307. Both seals were disintegrating. I replaced them with a new EPDM seal: https://amzn.to/3Ht5T4x (amazon UK) and https://ebay.us/MyO4Pa (ebay).
My trim removal tool, although one can remove the air vent just with fingers: https://amzn.to/48QCahd (amazon UK) or https://ebay.us/vRjR3H'>https://ebay.us/vRjR3H (ebay).

The seal is a bit on the thin side, but I will report here if this has not stopped the water coming in. In the video I will show you where these seals are, how to remove them, how to apply the seal and put them back on. Of course, one can just drill a hole in the boot, but that does not address the root problem and eventually everything will be rusty from the flowing water, let alone that this water will flow around wires as well.
