Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, DCalif., questioned Judge Amy Coney Barrett on the third day of the committee’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing. Feinstein asked Barrett how her originalist philosophy might apply to court cases involving the Affordable Care Act or antidiscrimination protections. Barrett declined to share her views about specific court cases that could come before her either as a judge with the 7th Circuit Court or as a Supreme Court justice. The third of four days of scheduled testimony gave senators another opportunity to ask Barrett about her record and approach to the law. This week’s hearing, which spans four days, comes just three weeks before Election Day.
