Profile:
Walküre is the tactical sound unit featured in the popular TV anime Macross Delta, which aired in 2016. Their catchphrase is “Super SpaceTime Venus.” JUNNA, the series’ youngest diva at the age of 15 at the time of the 2016 TV broadcast, and Minori Suzuki, who successfully won the role of the heroine from about 8,000 people at the Macross Audition, are the front vocalists of the fivewoman group. Apart from JUNNA, all four of them also voice the characters.
“Ichido Dake no Koi Nara,” the first opening theme of Macross Delta, has been viewed over 16 million times on YouTube. So far, they have released three singles, three albums, and two live video products, and each has been a hit on the charts. Their first album, Walküre Attack!, won Animation Album of the Year at the 31st Japan Gold Disc Awards, taking the anime music world by storm.
In July 2016, they held their first Zepp LIVE TOUR in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, and the tickets sold out instantly. In January 2017, they held their second LIVE at Yokohama Arena, drawing 22,000 people over two days. In August, they performed at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017, one of the largest outdoor rock festivals in Japan. In 2018, they released their 3rd single “Walküre wa Uragiranai.” In the same year, they held their 3rd LIVE at Yokohama Arena, attracting 22,000 people over two days. And their popularity is not limited to Japan. Their third LIVE was livestreamed in movie theaters across Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea.
They are an upandcoming group that has gone beyond the boundaries of anime to shake up the music scene.
