The Captain is pilot flying. The First Officer in the right seat is the pilot monitoring. The Portuguese aviation authority requires that all landings and takeoffs at Funchal airport are performed by the Captain. A while after the takeoff, the First Officer takes over as pilot flying.

One camera had a technical defect. This is the reason why the picture from the "First Officer"camera is missing.
