Originally filmed on April 25th 2024, in this video I review the state of my tomatoes. I mutter on about the poor growth possibly being down to too much water, too low a temperature, but looking at the plants, with their long internodal distances, thin stems and small leaves it can only really be etiolation caused by lack of light.

So far, spring 2024 has been a cold, gloomy grey and wet season and my little greenhouse is not positioned ideally for sunlight. Looking forward to next season I’ll have to start using my larger glasshouse for propagating and growing on seedlings, as it catches the sunlight much better.

In the meanwhile, I decided to try and sow some more tomatoes as a back up, in case the current batch of seedlings end up fizzling out.

I was in two minds whether or not to publish this video, but in the end as the idea of my channel is as a vlog since I’m too lazy to keep a garden diary I opted to publish it so I can look back on it in seasons to come.
