VAWA Immigration: How To Win A Green Card

BataraImmigrationLaw

Unfortunately, many immigrants who are abused, physically and psychologically, by U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouses are not aware how the Violence Against Women Act program can help them. In this video, we explore the special provisions of VAWA for immigrants, sometimes referred to as VAWA Immigration.

(If you file for VAWA, beware the impact of hostile divorces on green cards:    • Marriage Green Card Denied  |  The Im...   )

Like U.S. victims of domestic violence, immigrant victims often overlook that physical harm is not necessary to obtain governmentsponsored protections. For instance, most VAWA immigration cases involve extreme cruelty that does not rise to the level of an assault or battery.

There are at least 10 categories of such domestic abuse, which can enable those victimized to file a vawa selfpetition and win a green card, the right to live and work legally in the United States, and restart their lives without the victimizer.

The VAWA application process is not foreclosed to immigrant males and immigrant children. Despite the program's name, both men and minor kids can seek benefits.

If you find yourself, or someone you know, being subjected to domestic violence and abuse, take the immigration advice provided here to heart. Start putting together your evidence so that when you submit your VAWA petition, you'll be one step closer to safety and security.
