In this video, I will be sharing my user experience review on the Steam Deck handheld gaming computer by Valve corporations.

So, what is Steam Deck, a handheld gaming computer that was developed to have computer games on the go downloaded directly from Steam network. This device has a powerful hardware, a 7inch touchscreen, dual thumbsticks, trackpads, and customizable controls. It has different internal storage capacities with the ability to expand via SD cards. This unit here has a 256GB internal storage. You can also connect it to a monitor or TV via USBC or dock if you want to use it for a full PC experience.

From a user and personal experience, this machine is currently on top, I consider it to be today the greatest handheld gaming device I have ever played. I've tried them all from the Nintendo switch, the psp, psvita, Gameboy Advance, Aya Neo’s, Galaxy and Apple devices. This thing is great. Nevertheless, with some great features there are also limitations. Lets talk about some of the Pros and Con’s.

Pros:
• It has an adaptable software with a powerful hardware.
• Software is very stable with little to no lagging during playing time.
• Very sturdy, build with quality materials.
• Massive library of games, including the ability to play retro game emulators.

Cons:
• The battery isn’t the best, it tends to drain quite fast. It ranges between 2 to 4 hours of gaming, browsing, and downloading games. Compared to other devices, this sucks.
• Not consistent but at times slow game loading.
• Large device, which can be a bit heavy at times during play time, especially for smaller hands.
• Noisy fan at times when device is cooling.
• Some compatibility issues with multiplayer games.
• Expensive to expand storage.
.
With that being said, since the beginning of its launch back in 2022 Valve has released over 100 or so operational updates that have greatly improved the user experience. These consist of a more reliable and responsive software to help games run faster and better, new features to its operating system and so forth to name a few.

In comparison with other devices, this thing it's huge! it’s has, Full size joysticks… dual trackpads, Full size dpad and button set? l1,2,3,4 and r1,2,3,4 … Micro SD storage, its games come from a huge selection library of the Steam network… In general the hardware is more powerful than a switch, its visual output is comparable to a PS4 and its controls to be better than a PS5.

The only way you will feel that this system is slow, unresponsive or lack of power, is to directly compare a game on another platform to the same game on the steam deck. But you probably would not even see the differences.

To conclude, my experience with the Steam Deck has been more positive than negative, Steam Deck is not a gaming desktop or gaming laptop replacement, but rather another way to play PC games on the go. It’s also not a direct competitor to the Nintendo Switch, even though there are many of the same games on both platforms. I enjoy PC games as much as playing on the switch or any other handheld device, however, I find steam deck’s ability to run PC games very intriguing and having a computer games on the go.
