Question of the Day: I wanted to know whether I can use Google images on my Instagram for promotional purposes, to sell my tshirts of movie quotes? Also, can I use brand logos on my website to describe the items I’m selling?

The copyright owner of the movie gets to decide how images from the film can be used and what merchandise gets to be made and sold using intellectual property from the film. If a tshirt seller wants to use brand logos, such as the brand of base shirts they use, it’s best to check with the company that owns the logo as many of them have guidelines regarding how the logos can be used and may provide high resolution images of the logos for such uses.

If legal questions were easy, we wouldn’t need lawyers.
