We happened to get a building where the torch on roof was half installed for a comparative analysis. Capturing both video, thermal and RGB, we were able to see higher thermal loads on parts of the old roof where water ingress was apparent. On the newly installed flat roof, there was no indication of thermal load in comparison to the faulty section.
This project shows the great benefit thermal drones can offer building owners, strata corporations, building/maintenance managers and others looking to asses roof performance and integrity. In addition to the thermal details, we have 48MP still footage to assess for obvious defects visually.
While these reports and inspections do not replace a conventional inspection, they can help determine the scope of the defect, and diagnose a problem before it escalates.
The certified drone equipment we use for these commercial operations are ONLY professional grade. We do not use "off the shelf" hobby consumer grade drones or the like as these have limitations which can compromise safety and security.
