“Zillennial” is a relatively new term. It hasn’t always been used the same way, and even today people use “Zillennial” in different ways, especially in news articles. So I thought I should let you know!
Especially among younger people on the Internet, Zillennial tends to mean the Millennial Generation Z cusp/microgeneration but that’s not the only way the term gets used. There are two other primary uses which I cover in this video. A lot of times it isn’t even clear what definition writers are using and so having an idea of how they could be interpreting Zillennial may be useful.
I also go over how I think we might have transitioned to using Zillennial as a way to talk about the cusp, when this might have occurred, and possibly why some people have been using Zillennial as a synonym for Generation Z. Examples of other uses are shown on screen.
