Up Close w/ Fighter Jets - Catapult Topside Petty Officer

Follow
FlightDeckLife

The Catapult Topside Petty Officer's job is to ensure the safety of all personnel on the flight deck during launching operations, and to ensure the proper hookup of the aircraft to the catapult. This video is very similar to the video:    • Working In The Danger Zone  Aircraft...   except that this is the POV from Catapult 3.

The video starts with about one minute until launch, with the first launch taking place at around 3:00. This is one of my favorite videos as it features the removal, or "break down", of an aircraft from the catapult.

The aircraft you'll see are F/A18C/D (Legacy) Hornets and F/A18E/F Super Hornets (Rhinos).

Sorry for the nonwidescreen view. Switching GoPros without being familiar with a change someone made to the defaults can cause stuff like this to happen.
