Understanding Your Child’s Psychoeducational Evaluation Report

Follow
Parents Helping Parents

Has your child has been formally assessed for learning disabilities and or ADHD, by either a psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation? If so, understanding the report is critical to your ability to become the best advocate for their needs. Psychologists write these reports for parents, teachers, and even the students themselves, in the hopes that the information will be helpful in understanding how the student learns and what strengths can be accessed to circumvent any processing deficits. The testing results drive the determination of eligibility for special education support and services.

Learn from Dr. Mark Westerfied, Psy.D., staff psychologist at Morrissey Compton Educational Center, the following concepts:

Understand the basic structure of psychoeducational assessment reports
Learn how to interpret standard scores, scaled scores, and percentiles
Know some common tests and what they look like
Convert recommendations into effective interventions

This webinar is a collaboration between Parents Helping Parents and Morrissey Compton Education Center to provide parent training information to improve educational advocacy for children/youth with learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
