In addition to being fulltime students at the University of Michigan, Thomas Chen and Mitchell Walsh work as first responders for Huron Valley Ambulance (HVA). Thomas is an Emergency Medical Technician and Mitchell is a Paramedic. They are also leaders of the Michigan EMS club, and worked to create a studentrun ambulance in partnership with HVA. This ambulance, staffed exclusively with UM students, was designed to help cover the greater campus area during peak call times. Videographer Myles Murphy accompanied these partners for a 8pm6am shift on Friday, April 14th. This video has been screened in accordance with HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.
