How can you use two RV AC's at the same time on 30 Amp power without installing Soft Start units or something similar? Do you have a 30 amp motorhome with two AC units that can only use both AC's if the generator is running? I wanted to be able to run both AC units at the same time even when plugged into shore power. This video shows a modification to the wiring to be able to plug the RV into a 30 amp and the second AC into a 15 or 20 amp plug to run both ACs together. This was simple and very inexpensive fix. It required a few hours of time. It also allows you to have a dedicated 20 amp generator outlet that you can use to power anything you want when it isn't being used for the AC!
This was done on a 1996 Itasca Suncruiser Motorhome, but would be similar on a Winnebago and likely other models as well.
UPDATE: to see this project in action, watch the update video here: • How to Use Both Motorhome AC's on Sho... . I've used this multiple times this summer, and it makes a huge difference!
