The TrueForm Trainer is a manual running treadmill with the least amount of curve. Curvature is necessary because the force of gravity combined with the downward force of your running is what drives the belt. There’s no motor. Your speed is unlimited, and you can accelerate whenever you want. Even though the belt is a bit shorter than a motorized treadmill belt, the lack of a motor hood gives you a larger functional training area.

The slat belts feel nice and cushioned underfoot. They aren’t bouncy, so don’t expect much help from the treadmill to stay running. Yet, the TrueForm Trainer is more beginnerfriendly than the premium TrueForm Runner. You may still need some time to adjust to the challenge of running on a manual treadmill. But, the TrueForm Trainer is great for endurance running, intervals, sprinting, and even barefoot running.

The console is very simple. You have windows to view all of your training metrics. There are a couple of buttons to choose a target training goal. However, there is no option for setting up on interval workout. The other feature that the Trainer is missing is storage. It does not come with a bottle holder or phone holder.

The TrueForm Trainer is best when stored in a dedicated spot, but you can move it around by lifting it by the rear grab bar. When picking a spot for the Trainer, make sure that you have space in front of the treadmill and it’s not right up against a wall. If you sprint, you could accidentally kick the wall if you are too close, so give yourself some room.

The Trainer is a great manual treadmill for athletes and runners who want the freedom to determine their own training. With the shallowest curve of any manual treadmill on the market, the Trainer provides the most natural running experience.
