Three eastern spotbilled ducks (aka Chinese spotbilled duck; Anas zonorhyncha, family Anatidae) were spotted resting on a footpath between rice paddies. They preened themselves. The right one stood with its one foot. After a while, they became wary of me and went into the rice paddy one after another. Captured in the cloudy and windy latemorning (around 11:15 AM) of earlyJuly 2023 in Japan.
