This is Bratislava, Slovakia, the arguably most underrated in city Europe. We travelled here from Turkey to explore Slovakia, a former communist country (as part of Czechoslovakia) with influences from both east and west and a rich history from a beautiful corner of the AustroHungarian Empire, to former frontline in Cold War. Located only 80 kilometres from Vienna, Austria, Bratislava feels both central and eastern European at the same time and its hard to believe this city was separated completely from its bigger neighbour for over 50 years. Traveling here in 2023, with Slovakia part of the EU and Schengen borderless travel zone feels a world away from that period of time. Welcome to Bratislava, Slovakia
