On January 1, 2020, my dad and I took a spontaneous 3day trip to a southern Chinese region: Dali (located in Yunnan Province).

During the trip, we were greeted by a very friendly group of local people (and dogs), who introduced us to the local history, culture, and cuisine. I learned a lot of historical lessons along the way, as well as emerged myself in the serenity of the natural landscape. Now, I would love to share my experience with you, and hope it'll intrigue you to take the trip yourself and record your own version of Dali in memory.

As ironic as 2020 turned out afterward, it only made me more grateful that I got to spend some quality family and friends time at such a hospitable and beautiful region at the beginning of this new decade filled with hope.
