I found this ANTIQUE DRESSER with a detached mirror at a thrift store several months ago. I paid $95.00 for this abandoned, painted, DIY Furniture Makeover. When I began removing the layers of paint, I discovered original white oak with beautiful tiger oak patterns. Once the necessary repairs were made, and the piece was completely sanded using my Surfprep sanders and sanding blocks, I decided this piece needed a traditional finish. I chose a dark oilbased stain, finished with several layers of clear Shellac. This was a rewarding project and I hope to find more pieces like this in the future.
