If you make the colored strips 11/ 2 inches wide, then the size of the finished block will be 171/2 inches.
And if you cut colored strips 2 inches wide, then the size of the finished block will turn out to be 19 inches.
The seam allowance is 1/4 inch.
Additionally, we cut the central square of 5 inches. Strips of background fabric 21/2 inches wide
