A cold front moves into NZ on Friday but it’s pretty weak but it will help spark a new low for the North Island in particular on Saturday.

The low looks to be short lived for Friday and Saturday and as it moves over the North Island on Saturday PM it should fall apart. Rainfall totals don’t look excessive in any regions, BUT we do have to monitor it because there could be a subtropical element to it and with so much high pressure around this low it will be slow moving in other words, it could trigger some localised downpours, otherwise the rain bands are patchy and broken.
