Overall the 2UZ is actually a lot like the 1UZFE. They are designed for different applications, but their parts are mostly interchangeable. The 2UZ is a super torquey, and super strong engine. It's relatively small compared to its competitor's engines, but it makes as much torque, or more, at a lower RPM than many other comparable truck engines of the time.
