UNLESS TRAFFIC IS STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY, DON'T EVER, NEVER STOP ON AN ACCELERATION LANE. When merging onto a freeway or interstate, you must TOTALLY commit. There is absolutely NO stopping on the acceleration lane. Put your left signal on the onramp. As soon as the onramp straightens out, get your foot right into the gas pedal and build as much speed as you can before merging out onto the highway. Match the speed of the traffic on the highway. And when you put your signal on, pick you spot on the highway. Aim for that spot and you will merge perfectly every time. Merging onto a freeway is like taking off in a plane: you cannot abort.
