VIDEO SUMMARY
From the charming to the truly macabre, Paris is home to some of the world’s most interesting museums.

This indepth museum tour covers the top ten most unusual, strange, macabre, and bizarre museums that have been entertaining and horrifying visitors for hundreds of years.

We start with the quaint and informative Museum of the History of Medicine (Musée d’Histoire de la Médecine) and make our way to the Museum of French Freemasonry to uncover secret rituals and regalia.

For number eight, we head to the subterranean world of the Museum of Magic and Automatons (Musée de la Magie) and then we visit the eerily upsetting Room of Extinct and Endangered Animals at the Grand Gallery of Evolution.

For number six, it’s back to a medical museum for the revoltingly interesting Museum of Moulages – wax models of skin diseases, and then onto the Museum of Carnival Arts (Les Pavillons de Bercy – Musée des Forains).

It's back underground for numbers three and four on our list – The Paris Sewers Museum (Musée des Egouts) and the Paris Catacombs, a massive ossuary of bones beneath the Paris streets.

For number 2, we visit the surreal and magical Museum of Hunting and Nature (Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature), before we head to our number one entry – The Fragonard d’Alfort Museum (Musée Fragonard d’Alfort).

I chose this as the strangest museum in Paris because it is genuinely a madman’s fever dream, filled with écorché preparations – flayed human and animal corpses injected with wax and fat.
