In this video, I explored 3 natural springs in Balamban & Asturias Cebu. Apart from these springs, I also roamed some parts of these towns to get acquainted more. Going about from place to place, picking some good spots is one of my forte when I am on a journey. Btw, Balamban and Asturias are midwestern towns of the beautiful Cebu province.

We made our way to Balamban from Cebu City via TCH or Transcentral Highway. Upon reaching Balamban proper, we headed south to Barangay Arpili's Casili Cold Spring. It was cold and the water was sweet. I literally swallowed some spring water. Haha! From there, we drove back to poblacion Balamban and made a detour to Barangay Cambuhawe and plunged in the waters of Cambuhawe Spring Pools. My daughter and I had so much fun but what I really wanted was the natural one outside the swimming pools. And, I really went there just to feed my curiosity and it was so really good!

After some good swimming and already cooled down body temperature, we went for lunch with a hot soup and other favorites in Banong's Grill (Pob. Balamban). Meals and snacks are my favorite part of each trip. And I must admit that without it, I would say "incomplete".

Now tummy full and satisfied, we headed further north and checked out the town of Asturias. Making our first stop in Barangay Owak and bought the famous and delicious Bingka Dawa. From there, we then paid a visit to the town's beautiful San Roque de Montpellier Parish Church and wandered in its christmas decorated town plaza.

Time to rest at this point, and since I don't want to go home to the city yet, we decided to stay in Asturias for a night and chose Tabique By The Sea. A resort with wooden cabin houses located in Sta. Lucia, Asturias. I was so impressed by its wooden cabins offering magnificent views and wellequipped with all the home essentials one will need. After a good night sleep in the resort, we decided to leave and head to one of Asturias' historical structure in Brgy. Lunas II (Old Panghaw Ruins). It is a spanish era sugar milling facility. A little history I will share to all of you, Asturias has one of the most fertile soil ideal for sugar cane plantation back in the old spanish occupation times. Visiting old historical sites like this stimulates the inner historian/archaeologist in me. Haha! I am neither, but I have great interest of anything about the past.

For my last and final place to visit in Asturias, a secluded yet beautiful spring (Agtugop Spring) in Brgy. Agtugop that I've been wanting to swim for a long time. Agtugop spring is a natural undevelop spring tucked away in the hilly barangay of Asturias. The water was so cold when I was rhere and looked so mysterious...by its color. Clear yet the color was very intimidating dark deep blue. You know me, I am not afraid of mountains even when alone. So I swam and jumped and had so much fun like a kid. I really enjoyed my time there. I met some local kids by the way, we chatted and we played while swimming. It was all worthwhile.

Midwest Cebu, particularly Balamban & Asturias has more attractions and sites you can imagine. I will come back for more fun and adventure soon!
