These are some tips to help keep your chickens as cool and comfortable as they can be on a hot summer day.
1. Provide plenty of areas for your chickens to hydrate, and replenish their electrolytes
2. Water the ground to promote evaporative cooling. Reminder: leave some dry areas for the to have access to
3. Be sure to provide access to shade. Deep shade is essential for chickens to be healthy and happy on a hot summer day
4. Give the girls a cold snack from your freezer or fridge
5. Provide ventilation to their coop and run. A fan helps tremendously

Bonus tips!
Keep your coop clean. Buildup of poop will make their home hotter
Avoid foods that contain corn or fast energy like scratch and bird seeds. These increase body temperature.
Soaking a chicken with water will reduce their ability to regulate their own temperature efficiently. We never intentionally wet our chickens
