Here are the top 5 dog friendly towns that we've discovered so far in Michigan.

MI had many many dog friendly areas. Honestly, the only place we didn't like was Port Huron, because we couldn't find a place to eat with the dogs. But, there were still plenty of other dog friendly things to do.

Honorable Mentions/Runner Ups:
Paradise, MI
Paradise has Tahquamenon Falls, 2 restaurants were dog friendly, Whitefish Point, Whitefish Bay. All of these were dog friendly.

Dundee, MI
Dundee has Cabela's which is dog friendly, the dog friendly winery St Julian's, and the dogs went to a restaurant called Great Lakes which allowed the dogs on the patio. There may be others but a fun way to spend the day with your dog.

Holland, MI
Holland is a great place! There's a guide online that tell you which places in downtown allow dogs. Also the Windmill Gardens where De Zwann Windmill is fog friendly. And, The Nelis Dutch Village is located in Holland as well. Holland is easily 6th if we were to have made this list to Top 10.

Monroe, MI
Monroe has Sterling State Park with lots of dog friendly trails, a national Battlefield Park, and lots of walkable parks. We did not go to any restaurants, so I don't know but MI has a law that dogs are allowed on patios. It's up to each establishment.

Chelsea, MI
this is where the Waterloo State Recreation Area is located. We found a dog friendly beach nearby with Crystal clear water, and 1 dog friendly restaurant.

They have whole dog festival!
Ann Arbor, MI
Beautiful, walkable areas, plenty of dog friendly restaurants
Grand Marais, MI
Quaint walkable area with plenty of dog friendly beaches, and restaurant patio seating.
East Tawas, MI
So impressed with how Dog Friendly this place was
Saugatuck, MI
There's so much more to do in Saugatuck with dogs than we did.
