It's a feat no cat has ever dared attempt... Competing in the annual Christmas Eve Scotland Island Dog Race in Church Point.
But one man and his feline have done just that testing a longstanding rivalry between canine and cat and they're hopeful it'll become an annual tradition.
Hundreds of spectators turned out to watch the 11monthold Tonkinese's feat, swimming 550m against dozens of dogs, but the podium was just out of reach this year.
"Gus loves kayaking with me in the morning or stand up paddle boarding. We go mountain biking, we're actually thinking of giving him a go at water skiing this Christmas break." Glenn Druery Gus' human owner
