This is part 3 of a multipart series on some amazing things Todd has done. I have always felt and believed that cats are far smarter than we give them credit for. I only teach Todd single words and their meanings/concepts. In Part 1 I showed how on his own Todd started using two, three, and four words to make kitty sentences for his requests and how he asked me to make him a toy. In part 2 I showed Todd is able to use words in ways he was not taught to ask for and tell me things demonstrating an understanding of the words and concepts.

In this video I show where Todd knows what time of day it is (Morning, Afternoon, and Evening) and what comes next in the day (Now Morning, Later Evening). Todd will tell me what he wants to play now and then will let me know what he wants to do when I get home in the evening. Todd understands Now is now, Soon means he will get it within 15 minutes and later means it will be longer than 15 minutes.

Todd is a 6yearold neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 45 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”.
