Pigeon is our feral rescue cat. Thusly named because she came to us on out front porch seeking the bird seed we were using for the birds.

when we realized there was a small cat eating our bird seed... naturally we went out and got her some proper fancy feast.

She was scared half to death and wouldn't even let us make eye contact with her through the window from 30ft away.

As the Alaskan winter set in, we decided to try and rescue her from outside... but it wasn't going to be easy. She would not let us approach her.

We put the food closer to our dog door in the hopes that she'd feel the warmth. Eventually, as the temperature dropped to 10F, it was becoming clear that she was running out of time and wasn't going to come inside on her own.

We rented a trap for two weeks... but we caught her in 10 minutes flat. We brought her inside where she hid behind the washing machine for three days. It took us months to be able to get her close enough to us reach out for pets.
