Last spring, a white kitten suddenly wandered into the backyard. The kitten had an unusually friendly personality and captured the hearts of our dogloving family. We named the male kitten SHIRO and welcomed him as a new member of our family. As amateurs, we are always made to laugh at SHIRO's every move. SHIRO has now become the central figure in the family. It's almost been a year since I spent time with SHIRO. The way I think about cats has completely changed.
