The X99 platform is currently highly popular with extreme budget builders due to its price to performance. CPUs with up to 18 cores can be had for incredibly low prices, yet still work in motherboards with modern conveniences like DDR4, NVMe SSDs and WiFi. In this test, I compare four, six and eight core models in CPUintensive games and eSports, as well as video editing, 3D rendering and synthetic benchmarks.
