The arrival of a new baby is always a special time and this week there have been plenty of well wishes for Harry and Meghan following the birth of their second child, a daughter. Part of the joy is an expectation that Lilibet Diana MountbattenWindsor will help to restore some muchneeded harmony in the Royal family, battered after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aired their grievances in tellall TV interviews. On the Markle side of the family though, Lilibet’s granddad Thomas remains persona nongrata. And that’s why he has given a world exclusive interview to 60 MINUTES. As Tom Steinfort reports, Thomas Markle’s wish is that his daughter and soninlaw will somehow see this story, accept his apology for past embarrassments, and listen to his heartfelt plea to be a part of his grandchildren’s lives.
